Site Disclosure
Welcome to Simone’s Bookshelf, my little corner of the internet for book reviews, recaps, and reading adventures. This site is a personal project created and maintained by me, Simone. I want to be transparent about how I receive books and how I approach my reviews.
Advance Reader Copies
From time to time, I receive books as advance reader copies (ARCs) from publishers, authors, publicists, or platforms such as NetGalley. These copies are provided to me before a book’s official publication date so that I can read and potentially review them.
Receiving a complimentary copy does not influence my rating or review. My reviews always reflect my genuine thoughts and reading experience, whether I received the book for free or purchased it myself. If a review is based on an ARC, I will clearly disclose this at the beginning of the review.
My Reviews
My reviews are based on my personal reading experience and opinions. Ratings are subjective and reflect how much I enjoyed a book rather than being an objective assessment of its quality.
I aim to be honest while remaining respectful of the authors, publishers, and other people involved in creating the books I review. Receiving an ARC does not guarantee a positive review, a particular rating, or a review at all.
Some reviews may contain spoilers where clearly indicated. Recaps, by their nature, contain spoilers and will be labeled accordingly.
Other Disclosures
At the moment, ARCs are the only type of complimentary product or promotional relationship I disclose on Simone’s Bookshelf. If this changes in the future—for example, if I introduce affiliate links, sponsored content, or other partnerships—I will update this page accordingly.
If you have any questions about a review or disclosure, feel free to contact me at simonesbookshelf@gmail.com.
